Ms. Hess said, "No, I didn't give Tom anything to do today. I would prefer that, instead of getting any work done, he would bother Eric every five seconds, forcing Eric to not get any work done. Even though my independent programming students have a lot of work to complete, I would prefer they don't actually do any of it in class."
